The movie “Suraj” had some very nice songs. And quite a few songs were picturised on the beautiful Mysore gardens.
The song “Itna hai tumse pyaar” is also picturised on a beautiful garden. It could well be the same Mysore garden or perhaps some other location. I am sure the readers of this blog will be able to tell.
Even if one does not watch the picturisation showing Rajendra Kumar and Vyjyanti Mala singing this song in a garden, the song sung by Suman Kalyanpur and Rafi is enough to keep the listeners mesmerised.
Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist and Shankar Jaikishan have composed the music for this song.
It is such a beautiful and magical song to listen to.
PS- I had incorrectly mentioned the movie as “Sasuraal”, the lady as B Saroja Devi, and the female singer as Lata. Now I have corrected them to “Suraj”, Vyjyanti Mala and Suman Kalyanpur respectively. I thank all the readers for pointing our the errors.

What a beautiful song! I totally adore it, specially how it’s sung and the picturization is also very beautiful.
I was just about to say the same thing that Lalitha did, it’s not from Sasural (which I think had Asha Parekh? but I haven’t seen it yet). This is from Suraj which also starred Simi Garewal in a wonderful role. This film had another very sad song “husn jaana idhar aa, aaina hoon main tera” and it made me cry so much. I do love the other songs of the film though. An emotional drama of Vyjayantimala and Rajendra Kumar. Wow! what actors!!! Hasrat Jaipuri’s writing is out of this world!!!

I think the singer is Suman Kalyanpur and not Lata ji, if I am not mistaken. I do wish Lata ji sang this one though.

Kanan, I think you are referring to yet another Rajendra Kumar – Vyjayantimala starrer called Saathi, with Simi Garewal as the third person in the triangle. Suraj had another great song in it – “Baharon phool barsao …” and a couple of other songs, which I cannot readily recall. Saathi was also a great movie, and Atul has already included a song from that movie too in these columns.

Hahaha, good catch, Lalitha! you’re right. If it wasn’t Suraj then it was Saathi. I remember the costumes in Suraj distinctly and they were very different than in Saathi and the “husn jaana idhar aa” did not have those costumes. Thanks for correcting me. 🙂
Now that I recall Suraj also has the roothna-manana song “chehre pe giri zulfen kehdo to hata doon main.. gustaakhi maaf” (the costumes helped me recall this one right away). I remember Vyjayantimala riding on horseback and Rajendra Kumar walking next to her on a large golf-course-like green hilly area. I loved how in this one the horse galloped and the musical beats matched exactly to that. Trying to recall others, I know there were more.

Mr. Atul you may not be aware that you have dedicated two pages for this (same) song.
There is a mistake on this page below the video. Name of singers require correction.
Moreover about the location of this song which I personally rate above Baharo Phool Barsao, seems to be Mysore Vrindawan garden. The structure of Sir Vishweswaraiya Dam on river Kaveri in the beginning of song and towards end the water flowing out of dam itself indicates the Vrindawan Garden.
However I was also badly confused it with Chandigarh’s Pinjour garden.

Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

It is a beautiful song, Atul, but I don’t think it is from Sasural, because the lady in question on Vyjayantimala, not Saroja Devi. Besides, Rajendra Kumar is wearing period costume, so this may be from the movie Suraj. The locale does appear to be the same Brindavan Gardens, though. I have not seen the movie Suraj, but I will check on the internet.
It is amazing that we do not have the likes of Shankar Jaikishan, Naushad, SDB, RDB any more, directors who could effortlessly give us such great music in movie after movie. ARR is probably the closest we have to such great MDs.
