Chaalke teri aankhon se

Last month, I had been posting the innumerable songs of “Aarzoo” alphabetically. I had posted all the songs beginning from the letters A and B and now I am on to the letter C.
This song “Chhalke teri aankhon se” is sung by Rafi and is picturised on Rajendra Kumar. Unlike other songs where he would sing directly to Sadhana, here he is singing in a party disguised as an elderly shayar, full with beard, ackkan etc.
So this song is a “party’ song as well as a “disguise” song.
As we all know, party songs those days would take place in the palatial house of a main character ( the heroine’s house in this case). In case anyone has forgotten it, every character in a Bollywood movie those days used to have palatial houses to live in.
But I find that tis party song deviates a bit from the usual party songs. The party goers are not standing still in this song. They instead go “waah waah” after every stanza of the song, and this “waah waah” is led by Nazir Hussain, baap of Sadhana.
So here is this “Aarzoo” song sung by Rafi. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist and Shanker Jaikishan composed the music.
PS- Now, reading the latest farmaish of Raja, I find that there was one more “Aarzoo” song beginning from “A” that I have not yet discussed. Bahut naa insaafi hai. Cannot this movie have just a few hit songs so that one can easily keep track of them ? I thought I had already posted all songs of “Aarzoo” beginning from “A”.

Atleast Atulji, In those days when hero was gareeb his house was really small.(House in Anari, house of sadhana in Asli Naqli) etc…
But in recent years all the characters rich or gareeb have big houses wear latest trendy(mini) clothes and there is no difference …
In Arzoo the characters portrayed were rich.

Thank you for a great post. Just a tiny correction. In the third stanza, the line reads as ”ab roo ki katari ko do aab aur zyaada”. The correct word is ”abaru” which means eyebrow. ”Kataari ko aab dena” means to whet or sharpen a knife.
