Ik na Ik din ye kahaani banegi

“Gora Aur Kala” was almost a swan song for Rajendra Kumar as a hero, who was pitted against a newcomer viz Hema Malini in this movie. An ageing Rajendra Kumar against a young Hema Malini- such mismatches were not quite unknown in Bollywood those days.
Rafi sings this song which is picturised on Rajendra Kumar and Hema Malini. Anand Bakshi was the lyricist and Laxmikant Pyarelal created the music.
Picturisation of this song is quite nice. The locations where this song is picturised are quite breathtaking.
I suppose I can categorise this song as a “horse” song. The chivalrous Rajendra Kumar lets Hema ride on his horse and he himself walks on foot. Later in the song, Hema Malini asks him to ride on the horse too instead of walking on foot.
Riding on a horse with a girl was the forerunner of riding with a girl on the motorbike, I suppose. 😉
