Kishore Kumar has sung a large number of songs for the leading actors of their eras, viz Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. In addition, he also sang many songs for actors who were near the top, but who never quite reached there.
I have noticed that some of the finest Kishore Kumar songs have been sung for Vinod Khanna. All these songs came in the decades of 1970 and includes the blockbuster song “ruk jaana nahin tu kahin haar ke” from “Imtihaan”.
One of the very first songs ( if not the first song) that Kishore Kumar sang for Vinod Khanna was for the movie “Mere Apne”. And this song set the standard for all the fine Kishore Kumar-Vinod Khanna songs that followed in the yeras to come.
Here is this song-“Koi hota jisko anpa”. The singing quality of Kishore Kumar in this song is just astounding. Gulzar, like always, has come up with a wonderful song. the music director was that under estimated but highly talented Salil Chowdhary.

Wonderful song !!!

This was the movie that effectively launched the careers of Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha.
Shatru became hugely popular for his role as “Chheelu”, for his dialogues and, very importantly, for his mannerism of running his palm on his neck.
