“Tere Ghar Ke Saamne” (1963) is full of songs that have become classics. I have already posted one such song. Here is another.
This song, “tu kahaan ye bataa” is sounds extremely romantic and sensuous, and it is also a “chayageet” category of song. It is written by Hasrat Jaipuri and music is composed by S D Burman. Rafi sang this song with verve, but the person who played tabla in this song deserves recognition. Throughout the song, tabla plays in the background with keeps one enthralled.
The song was picturised on Dev Anand on a “nasheeli raat” and the picturisation does justice to the quality of the song.

May I point out a correction please –
aayi jab thandi hawa,
maine poocha jo pata
woh bhi katra ke gayi
aur bechain kiya
the line after this i think should say
pyar se tu mujhe de sada (‘de sada’ instead of ‘bekaraar’)

Sir, Plz credited the song to Hasrat Jaipuri instead of Majrooh as Hasrat Sahab penned all songs of the movie, same already reminded by Udipi Rajagopalji in comment #3.

Lovely song. I love this movie – one of my favourites.
Though this song is good, it gets really interesting for me only after 3:10 or so. No prizes for guessing why ! 🙂
