I am aware of the better known songs of “Munimji”(1955). But now I am finding out that even the lesser known songs from this movie were very good songs to listen to.
Take this song “Ek nazar bas ek nazar ” for instance. This song is sung by Lata and is picturised on Nalini Jaywant and Dev Anand on picturesque locations viz a jungle full with flora fauna, trees, hills, roapway etc. In this romantic song, it is Nalini Jaywant who comes on hard and Dev Saab plays coy.
This song is picturised in a jungle. While the duo are busy in their gutar goon, Pran, the arch villain has other ideas, he is ready with his gun, waiting for the song to end, so that he could take aim. That gives an elephant ( they are in the jungle, remember) enough time to intervene and hit Pran’s gun holding arm with its trunk just as Pran sqeezes the trigger. Yes, this is an interesting end to the song.

Indeed it is Nalini Jaywant. I absent mindedly typed Kalpana Kartik, though I correctly typed Nalini Jaywant in the tags.
