Naach meri jaan fataafaat

Like what was the case with other songs of “Main Sundar hoon”, I had listened to this song and liked it during 1971, but I was not aware that this song was from “Main Sundar Hoon”.
This song was as popular as the other three songs from this movi that I have already posted. This song was meant to give a glimpse of the behind the scene working of Bollywood. In this song, for instance, Kishore Kumar is shown singing this song in the recording studio, with Jaikishan visible in the recording too. Mehmood and Jaishree T are shown shooting for the picturisation of this song.
The lyrics of this song are lighthearted and they take a dig at the “modern” ( read western) ways of dancing, romancing etc. Anand Bakshi wrote the lyrics and Shankar Jaikishan composed the music. Asha Bhonsle also sang this song, though she is not shown in the recording room.
Song-Naach meri jaan (Main Sundar Hoon) (1971 )Singers-Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Shankar Jaikishan

I just saw on TV an ad for the car Honda Crosstour, and the music sounds much like this song… I wonder which came first??

Just read that one Miriam Makeba made this 60s hit song “Pata Pata”… I had never heard of it before… but it sounds eerily like Naach Meri Jaan… But it is just a curious thing, no big deal…

Do you have more ‘behind the scenes’ videos? They are hard to find but so interesting!
