Nain dwaar se man mein wo aake

I neither knew about this movie called “Saawan” (1959) nor about this song, but I find this song an interesting one.
In this song, Mukesh, singing for Bharat Bhooshan, sings at a very slow tempo, followed by Lata, singing for Ameeta at a very fast tempo. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist and Hansraj Bahl composed the music.
This song has a Lata solo version as well. So this song is a multiple version song.
Audio – Part I (Duet version)
Audio – Part II (Lata Solo version)
Video – (Both version)
song-nain dwaar se man mein wo aake (Saawan) (1959) Singers-Lata, Mukesh, Music-Prem Dhawan, MD-Hansraj Bahl
Lyrics
nain dwaar se man mein wo aake tan mein aag lagaaye
nain dwaar se man mein wo aake tan mein aag lagaaye
haay rasiyaa haay re koyi chhaliyaa chhal kiye jaaye
jiyaraa liye jaaye chain nahin aaye
haay koyi chhaliyaa chhal kiye jaaye
jiyaraa liye jaaye chain nahin aaye haay
nain dwaar se man mein wo aake tan mein aag lagaaye
nain raseele chaand saa mukhdaa sundar roop suhaanaa
par bedardi dard na samjhe jaane bas tadpaanaa
phir bhi man tadpaane waalaa man kaa meet kahaaye
haay rasiyaa haay re koyi chhaliyaa chhal kiye jaaye
jiyaraa liye jaaye chain nahin aaye
haay koyi chhaliyaa chhal kiye jaaye
jiyaraa liye jaaye chain nahin aaye haay haay
nain dwaar se man mein wo aake tan mein aag lagaaye
jab wo aaye lekar aaye din mein chaand sitaare
jab wo jaaye lekar jaaye sab armaan hamaare
dekh dekh di tadpe aur dekh rahaa dil nazaare
haay rasiyaa haay re koyi chhaliyaa chhal kiye jaaye
jiyaraa liye jaaye chain nahin aaye
haay kaun chhaliyaa
haay ji ek chhaliya
kaun teraa rasiyaa jo dil liye jaaye
nain dwaar se man me wo aake tan me aag lagaaye
nain dwaar se man me wo aake tan me aag lagaaye
paagal man ki paagal baaten kaun ise samjhaaye
khud hi baithaa rog lagaaye khud hi neer bahaaye
na soye na sone de
saari raat jagaaye
nain dwaar se man me wo aake

A unique composition of Master Ji !!
The notes & tempo of the 2 singers were adjusted to suit the demand/situation of the picturisation.
Bharat Bhushan singing lower down in the valley under the trees while grazing his sheep/goats & Ameeta singing atop a hill while frolicking with her friends. Likewise, Master Ji chose higher notes for Lata ji & lower notes for Mukesh ji as the camera or the base of the song was around Bharat Bhushan downhill. He blended the 2 singers sooooooo well to suit the picturisation.
The tempo of the 2 singers was likewise adjusted as BB is shown a bit aloof/ worried / sad & Ameeta in an exhilarating mood with her sahelis/friends atop the hill.
And in the end, she is shown down the hill in the valley & likewise Lata sings this time for Ameeta at lower notes.

I have always liked this song without the faintest idea of which movie or who it was filmed on. As you may have guessed, we have it on one of our CDs, but I do not have the Lata solo part in my CD. I guess it comes later in the movie. Thanks for this wonderful song, Atul!
