Sapnon ke shahar ham banaayenge ghar

G P Sippy, who was on a high after “Sholay”, was making his next big movie called “Shaan” which was taking too long to get completed.
In the interim, G P Sippy decided to make a low budget filler, with new actors. In this movie, lots and lots of new faces were taken. To ensure that movie watchers would actually go and watch this movie, big names like Amitabh Bachchan, Bindiya Goswami etc were roped in as guest actors. For instance, Amitabh Bachchan and Bindiya Goswami figured in just one party song.
The credit for this movie shows the guest actors as the main actors of the movie, and the names of the actual hero and heroine of this movie are missing. In fact, I doubt if too many people know, or bother about them. Once the movie was released, they were found wanting and they vanished into thin air.
I was one of those few who had actually gone on and watched this movie when this movie was released. No one remembers much of this movie. But as happens with such movies, there is one song which has ensured that the movie is at least remembered as the the movie which contained this song.
The song is “sapnon ke shahar ham banaaayenge ghar”. It is sung by Kishore Kumar. Lyricist was Ravindra Peepat and the music director was an up and coming Bappi Lahiri.
Kishore Kumar has sung for some unknown actors, but no one is as unknown as this actor, who remains unknown to this day. Can someone identify him as well as the heroine ?
Heroine in a swim suit was considered a no no in Bollywood those days, and very few actresses dared to bare ( as is the term still used in Bollywood for swimming scenes). watch the picurisation. In this song, the heroine is shown stripping to her undies and swim in the swimming pool. By Indian standards, it was a “bold” scene and a scene that was meant to titillate. Too bad that there were very few movie goers who actually went to watch the movie.
I have watched this song only now for the first time since 1979, and I must say that I was duly titillated. The heroine had the figure for the scene like this.
Well, I do not give a damn who the hero was, but can someone tell me who was the heroine. This movie and the heroine came a few decades too early. she would have done well in a movie like this if such a movie was made today.

Lyrics
sapnon ke shahar ham banaayenge ghar
hmm hmm hmm
sapnon ke shahar ham banaayenge ghar
pal bhar me ye bana ye gira
sapnon ke shahar ham banaayenge ghar
chandi ka rang heere ka roop
ghar se mere sone ki dhoop
kal tak jo thaa hoga na kal
dil ka mere sheeshmahal
kho gayi roshni
sapnon ke shahar ham banaayenge ghar
kyun ho judaa mujhse khafaa
aa jaao tum naa do sazaa
mausam hanse gulshan hanse
ghar par mere aangan hanse
ro rahaa dil meraa
sapnon ke shahar ham banaayenge ghar
pal bhar me ye bana ye gira
hmm hmm
