Ham tum se judaa hoke mar jaayenge ro ro ke

As melancholic songs go, this song must be a strong title contender. “ham tum se juda hoke mar jaayenge ro ro ke” is such a well known song that it needs no introduction.
Song may not need introduction, but the same cannot be said about the movie it is from. I was not aware which movie this song is from. It turns out that this song is from “Ek sapera Ek Lutera” (1965). Asad Bhopali is the lyricist and Usha Khanna composed this iconic song which is sung by Rafi.
This song was picturised on Feroz Khan.

Lyrics
Ham tum se judaa hoke mar jaayenge ro ro ke
ham tum se judaa hoke mar jaayenge ro ro ke
mar jaayenge ro ro ke
duniyaa badi zaalim hai dil tod ke hansti hai
duniyaa badi zaalim hai dil tod ke hansti hai
ik mauj kinaare se milne ko tarasti hai
kah do na koyi roke
kah do na koyi roke
ham tum se judaa hoke mar jaayenge ro ro ke
mar jaayenge ro ro ke
sochaa thaa kabhi do dil milkar na judaa honge
sochaa thaa kabhi do dil milkar na judaa honge
maaloom na thaa ham yoon naaqaam-e-wafaa honge
qismat ne diye dhokhe
qismat ne diye dhokhe
ham tum se judaa hoke mar jaayenge ro ro ke
mar jaayenge ro ro ke
waade nahin bhoolenge kasmen nahin todenge
waade nahin bhoolenge kasmen nahin todenge
ye tay hai ke ham donon milnaa nahin chhodenge
jo rok sake roke
jo rok sake roke
ham tum se judaa hoke mar jaayenge ro ro ke
ham tum se judaa hoke mar jaayenge ro ro ke
mar jaayenge ro ro ke

When I listen to such songs I think of the enormous amounts of feelings that Rafi puts into these numbers.
Emotionally draining. You really feel the despair after listening to this.
