The farmaish for this song was a long pending farmaish from October 2008, and I was unable to comply with it because the video of this song was not available all these days. The fact that I had myself never herad this song meant that I too was quite eager to listen to this song.
Yesterday I managed to locate this song. And I loved listening to the song. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised on Helen ( No, it is picturised on the Helen look alike viz Madhumati). Now what more does one need ?
This Panjaabi style song is from “Pavitra Paapi” (1970). Prem Dhawan is the lyricist and music director of this song.
What a nice and interesting song from the past. I loved listening to this song for the first time yesterday.
I thank Raja for this farmaish. It is thanks to farmaishes for songs like this that I have managed to listen lots of great songs about whom I had absolutely no idea.
With this song, now I have taken care of my backlog of farmaishes for the previous year. hopefully I will clear up the backlog of this year as well. In the meanwhile keep up sending your farmaishes because this gives me a good starting point while searching for songs.

Never heard this song…but I liked the song “Teri Duniya Se Hoke Majboor” a lot….

This song is awesome and a huge favorite of mine. I even like the Lata solo – Lage jis ko wohi ye dukh jaane, ke dil wale dukhde bure.
The movie was based on a novel of the same name by Nanak Singh.

Thanks a lot, Atul, for managing to find the video clip of this song. It is a nice and lively song, so typically Punjabi. With typical dance. And Asha-Rafi’s voices to top it off.

Somewhere I have read Prem dhawan used to direct dance sequences also, Arunji Help me regarding the correctness of the fact.
