I have listened to this song many a times, without having a clue which movie it was from. Moreover, I listened to this song without paying much attention.
Now I know that this song is from “Jeene Ki Raah” (1969), a movie which has some superb songs. This song is sung by several singers viz Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar etc and the song is picturised on three kids. Female singers giving playback for kids was usual in those days.
Anand Bakshi is the lyricist and Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the music.
This is a superb song that will move its listeners even today, 40 years after this song was created.

I have heard this song before, ages back, and am sorry to say that I had completely forgotten it until I listened to it today. It is a beautiful song, and I am glad you were able to find it and bring it back to us. Thanks!

There is another version of this song which featured in the film, which is a rafi solo, very small only mukhda sung like a lori.

I just played this song on my laptop and was to play the next song. My daughter who was playing asked me if I could play the song again :). Was pleasantly surprised. nahm ji, i am not able to find the rafi version of the song.. any youtube links? thank you.

here is the link to the Family song of Jeene Ki Raah. i call it so bcoz….. the rafi version is a lori by Jeetendra to the kids in the family. they then use the same song to search Jeetendra later in the movie. so here is the family National Athem (nomenclature given by my Peevesie for such songs)
she says that every family shd have one such song so that it can be used in Later Years 😉

I’ve always loved this song too, don’t remember much about the film though! Maybe should watch it again 🙂
