“Bees Saal Baad” is a memorable movie on several counts. It was not only a landmark movie of its genre, it was a musical blockbuster too.
I have posted several songs from this movie in this blog, but I need to post more as every song from this song is worthy of being posted.
Here is this lovely song “sapne suhaane ladakpan ke” from this movie. Lata has sung this song beautiufully. It is picturised on Waheeda Rehman and she has stole the scene with her bubbly performance.
Shakeel Badayuni wrote this song and Hemant Kumar was the music director.

This was the first suspense movie in Hindi. It went hit but next film by same team KOHRA failed at box office

“Bees Saal Baad” was top grosser in year 1962 beating good movies like “Ek Musafir Ek Haseena”, “Professor”, “Hariyali Aur Raasta”, “Asli Naqli”, “Anpadh”, “Aarti” etc.
Also, movie won four filmfare awards:
Best Editor: Keshav Naidu
Best Lyricist: Shakeel Badayuni
For the song “Kahin deep jale kahin dil…” performed by Lata.
Best Playback Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
For the song “Kahin deep jale kahin dil…”.
Best Sound Recordist: S.Y. Pathak
Hemant da lost best MD award to Shanker Jaikishen (for Professor).
