I thought that Suraiyya’s career as an actor-singer was over in 1950s, but it seems that a few of her movies were released in 1960s as well.
“Shama” (1961) was one such movie. Here i alovely song from this movie. It is sung by Suraiyya and picturised on her, though I can see another lady in this song who looks like Meena Kumari.
PS-This other lady in Nimmi. I thank Derubala for this information.
PS-Going through the contents of this post again, some two years later, I find that I was not able to identify Nimmi those days. hopefully I have comesome way in identifying old acresses from those days. 😀
Mr Sadanand Kamath points out that Suraiyya has given playback for Nimmi too in this song, in addition to singing for yourself. Now that it has been pointed out, I can indeed see that so is the case. So this song qualifies to be a trivia buff’s delight, viz. name a song where a singer sings for another person in addition to singing for herself/himself. I thank Mr sadanand Kamath for pointing out this interesting fact about this song.
Kaifi Azmi is the lyricist and Ghulam Mohammad is the music director. And this song, like other songs of Suraiyya has the same magical touch about it.

In this song, Suraiyya had given playback to Nimmi as well. There appears to be some slight voice modulation when Suraiyya sings for Nimmi.
You have given Nimmi the status of ‘another lady’. Please note that the song starts and ends with Nimmi. 🙂

What a beautiful song. So many years passed, the lyricist, the musician, the singer and the artists all have gone to the other world but this work of love and labour will remain here for the music lovers of all generations to come.

This is a beautiful ghazal, picturized as dream sequence.
The first line needs correction :
dhadakte dil ki ‘ tamannaao ‘ mera pyaar ho tum
And this line is :
‘ zah-e-naseeb ‘ ataa ki jo dard ki saughaat
