Sajjad Hussain was a music director who was not very diplomatic when it came to dealing with people. And he was very demanding of his singers too. He would create songs that would require his singers to give their best, and even then he would not be fully satisfied.
He rubbed influential people the wrong way and that ensured that he got very few assignments despite being the “only original music director in Bollywood” ( as described by Anil Biswas ). Sajjad Hussain got to compose music in only about 100 odd songs, but each and everyone of these songs is a delight to listen to.
Here is a lovely song from “Sainyaa” (1951). What a fabulous song it is !
The song is sung by Lata and picturised on Madhubala and others as a dance song. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. It is a superb song, which is picturised nicely as well.
