Kishore Kumar is known for his light hearted songs, but he has sung many great serious songs.
Here is one of the first serious songs sung by Kishore Kumar. It is from “Fareb” (1953) where Kishore Kumar had acted as well.
This song is written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and music is composed by Anil Biswas. It is a lovely song from a bygone era.

This is one of the earliest sad songs rendered by Kishore Kumar which I like the most. There is softness in everything – Anil Biswas’s composition, Mahrooh’s lyrics and Kishore Kumar’s voice with no pretensions.
