Jiyaa le gayo ji mora saanwariyaa

“Anpadh”(1962) had several songs sung by Lata. I was under the impression that all these songs were picturised on Mala Sinha, but that is not the case.
Take this song viz “Jiya le gayo ji mora saanwariyaa”. The picturisation shows a young lady who is not Mala Sinha and who appears familiar. And then it strikes you that she is Bindu at a very young age ! The gentleman who accompanies her in this song is not a familiar figure though. I request my knowledgeable readers to identify him for the benefit of ignorant souls like me.
PS- The gentleman is Shaminder. I thank bemused321 for this information.
The song is just as brilliant as the other songs of this movie. Raja Mehdi Ali Khan is the lyricist and Madan Mohan is the music director.

Oops! I cannot believe I misspelled the word linguistic above!! Isn’t that a contradiction in itself?

Any idea who is the actor figuring in this song ?

One of my favorite songs, too! All the songs in this movie were so good, and it is such a pity that Madan Mohan never got the recognition he so richly deserved.

From the dvd I have, the character’s name in the film is Advocate Suraj and according to the imdb site, the actor playing the role is Shaminder. He also has a role in Aas Ka Panchhi (1961); perhaps you can find more information about him.

All the songs of ‘ Anpadh ‘are time unbound superb compositions . This particular song is based on Rag ‘ Yaman ‘ sung so well by Lataji picturized on young Bindu and lesser known Shaminder .

I love this song. The young lady in the story is the college-educated daughter of the Anpadh-heroine (Mala Sinha). Do take a look at the other two good songs from Anpadh: Woh Dekho Jala Ghar Kisi Ka (sad) and the humorous song exposing philosophical/lingusitic/moral contradictions: Sikandar Ne Porus Se Ki Thi Ladai.
