With time, I have discovered (and continue to discover) several obscure songs from several obscure movies.
Here is one such song from a movie called “Do Roti” (1957). This song is a duet sung by Rafi and Lata. The song is picturised as a roadside tamasha song where two dancers (a male and a female) sing and dance and a crowd of spectators gather around them to watch them perform. There have been several songs of this genre in Bollywood movies and I think I should give a name to this genre. Any suggestions for a name better than “roadside tamasha” song for such songs?
And can anyone tell me who are the actors on whom this song is picturised ?
The song is written by Khumar Barabankwi. The music sounds like O P Nayyar’s, but it cannot be seeing that the female singer is Lata in this song, and she never sang any songs for O P Nayyar.

Never heard this song before – just heard it now. Nice song !
I think the category “roadside tamasha” is just fine. 🙂 “Leke pehla pehla pyar” and “deewane hain deewanon ko” are songs I can think of in this category. Of course there are many more.
Unfortunately I could not make out the actors on whom this song is picturised.
