Lyrics

o bewafa aa

o mujhe chhod ke jaane waale
o mujhe chhod ke jaane waale
dil ke dushman hai zamaane waale
phool kaanton mein ghira jaata hai

gham ki ghanghor ghata chhaayi hai ae ae ae

chaand taaron ko bhi neend aayi hai
dam andhere mein ghuta jaata hai
pyaar badnaam hua jaata hai

dil hi mein rah gaye armaan dil ke
dil hi mein rah gaye armaan dil ke
jo diya hamne jalaaya mil ke
wo diya aaj bujha jaata hai
pyaar badnaam hua jaata hai
bewafa

Lyrics

?? ek tamaashaaayi ee ee ee
?? ke nigehbaan
duniya mein khilaunon ki tarah aa
bikte hain insaan

duniya banaane waale ae
duniya banaane waale
utar aasmaan se
apna jahaan badal le
hamaare jahaan se ae
duniya banaane waale

do chaar din ke waaste ae ae ae
do chaar din ke waaste
duniya mein aa ke dekh
zulmo sitam hamaari tarah
khud uthhaa ke dekh
jo kuchh guzar rahi hai
kahe(?) ik zabaan pe
duniya banaane waale

mar mar ke zinda rahna aa aa
mar mar ke zinda rahna
koi dillagi nahin
shaayad teri nigaah mein ham
aadmi nahin
shiqwa nikal na jaaye
kahin ab zabaan se ae
duniya banaane waale
utar aasmaan se
apna jahaan badal le
hamaare jahaan se ae
duniya banaane waale

“Saaz Aur Aawaaz”(1966) was directed by Subodh Mukherji. The movie had Joy Mukherjee, Saira Banu, Kanhaiya Lal, Padma, Niranajan Sharma, Asit Sen, Mumtaz etc in it.

This movie had nine songs in it. I was under the impression that all the songs of this movie were already covered in the blog, with the last song discussed in 2013 itself. Now it turns out that I had had failed in counting the songs of this movie. The fact that I had not discussed one of the songs from the movie was pointed out by H M Aparna, who takes her role of tagging YIPPEED songs very seriously and who often detects songs whose links were missing despite the songs being discussed in the past. Now she has pointed out a song from “Saaz aur Aawaaz”(1966) which I had actually failed to discuss and still I had painted the title of this movie orange declaring that all nine songs of the movie were discussed.

Comedians were given due importance in old time films in general and in the Golden Era in particular. This fact can be noticed in movies produced from late 40s to late 60s.

Good, quality comedians entered films and succeeded. Roles were created and written for them and songs were filmed on them. A variety of comedy was offered to the audience. Slapstick comedy, situational comedy, farce, physical comedy and comedy of events- all these were lapped up by the public. Comedians like Dikshit and Ghori, V.H.Desai, Gope, Yaqub, Noor Mohd. Charlie became indispensable parts of films being produced those days.
