Few people may have heard of this movie called “Taj” (1956). This movie had Pradeep Kumar and Vyjyanti Mala in lead roles. This pair had figured in the blockbuster “Naagin” (1954) and they were most likely signed up for this movie on the wake of their “Naagin” (1954) success.
This song prima facie sounds like “Chali gori pi ke milan ko chali”, but the resemblance is superficial. The “Ek Hi Raastaa” (1956) song is from the same year, but the two songs are different.
The song “tum sang laage piyaa more nainaa” is a superb song in all respects, the music, the voice, the picturisation- all these things create a gem of the highest order. This song is not all that well known, but this song deserves to be well known among music lovers. This song is a masterpiece and this must be a major feather in the caps of the artists involved in the creation of this song.
The song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Vyjyantimala and Pradeep Kumar. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and Hemant Kumar composed the music.
