Ham tujhse muhabbat karke sanam rote bhi rahe hanste bhi rahe

I was under the impression that I had posted nearly all the songs of “Aawaara” (1951) in this blog. But I was wrong, There are still songs from this movie that need to be posted.
Here is one of the well known songs from this movie which had escaped from my clutches, but not any longer.
This song that I have rounded up today is “ham tujhse muhabbat karke sanam rote bhi rahe hanste bhi rahe”. It is sung by Mukesh and it is picturised on Raj Kapoor and Nargis. The song is written by Hasrat Jaipuri and music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

Song-Ham tujhse muhabbat karke sanam (Aawaaraa) (1951) Singer-Mukesh, Lyrics- Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan
Lyrics
ham tujh se muhabbat kar ke sanam
ham tujh se muhabbat kar ke sanam
rote bhi rahe,
hanste bhi rahe
rote bhi rahe,
hanste bhi rahe
khush ho ke sahe ulfat ke sitam
khush ho ke sahe ulfat ke sitam
rote bhi rahe, hanste bhi rahe
rote bhi rahe, hanste bhi rahe
hai dil ki lagi kyaa tujhko khabar
ik dard uthaa tharraayi nazar
hai dil ki lagi kyaa tujhko khabar
ik dard uthaa tharraayi nazar
tharraayi nazar
khaamosh the ham
khaamosh the ham is gham ki qasam
rote bhi rahe, hanste bhi rahe
rote bhi rahe, hanste bhi rahe
ye dil jo jalaa ek aag lagi
aansoo jo bahe barsaat huyi
ye dil jo jalaa ek aag lagi
aansoo jo bahe barsaat huyi
barsaat huyi
baadal ki tarah
baadal ki tarah aawaaraa the ham
rote bhi rahe,
hanste bhi rahe
rote bhi rahe,
hanste bhi rahe
ham tujh se muhabbat kar ke sanam
ham tujh se muhabbat kar ke sanam
rote bhi rahe, hanste bhi rahe
rote bhi rahe, hanste bhi rahe

yes in this ocean of songs such omissions are natural to happen.
one such omission is
“piya tose naina lage re” from “guide”

@Krishna, welcome to this blog. I want to clarify that this is a personal blog where Atul’s choice of songs dictates. Yes, I would also have loved to see “ramayya vastavayya” but like Atul says, there are so many songs out there and this blog is being gradually built up.
We just need patience – I would not even call them glaring omissions. Time lagta hai bhai – this is one man’s effort, that too part-time.
Let’s recognise and respect that.

All these years in the US (till youtube came along), I had only two cassette tapes to remind me of India. So I played a dozen or so Mukesh songs over and over again for 20+ years. I’m sick of them. Luckily this wasn’t one of the songs.

I am just a newbie to this site, so when I see a glaring (right-?) omission like this, one of Mukhesh’s masterpieces, I don’t know when it is an act of omission, and when it is an act of commission!
Thus when I see you don’t have “ramayyaa vastaavayyaa” from Shree 420, or “chAhe kOyi mujhe jungli kahE” from Junglee, or have only two songs from “stree” and only three from “Navrang”, I am surprised!
OTOH you posted the iconic, mErA jootA hai japAnee only a couple of months ago, so there is still hope.
What’s the Nargis’s line about “intazaar” from Andaz?

There are so many movies and so many songs that such “glaring” omissions are quite possible. I post the missing song as and when I notice them either myself or I am reminded of them through my readers.
But some of the songs mentioned by you have been posted viz.
