Jeewan hai ik sapnaa madhur suhaanaa sapnaa

This is celebration time again for this blog. And incidentally this is the third such occasion for this blog in this month that we are celebrating some landmark. On 11 july 2010, this blog completed 2600 songs and on 19 july 2010, this blog turned Two years old. And today on 30 july 2010, this blog completes yet another century.
Yes, this is the 2700 th song for this blog. This is the fastest 100 for this blog in the last nine months. I was consistently posting centuries in 15-16 days in 2009, but I had slowed down very badly after that for many reasons, so much so that while I completed 2000 songs in 14 months, I have only been able to post another 700 songs in the next 10 months. But I am happy that I have been able to pick up the pace again. Hopefully I will be able to sustain this pace for some time.
This song, like all other century songs is a special song. This song is one that was very popular during its time, but few people (read yours truly) were aware about the details of this song. And by now, this song has become a forgotten and obscure song. And the movie has been totally forgotten too.
This song is a rail song, which is a favourite category of songs for me. In january 2008, I had compiled a list of over 20 rail songs from Hindi movies and I was very proud of my list. I thought that I had included all the rail songs available. But now, more than two years later, I stand corrected. In these two years and more, I have discovered many more rail songs. Many of these songs are gems that have been forgotten, and the loss is that of the music lovers. It is my humble attempt to bring all this songs to the notice of music lovers throigh this blog.
Here is this superb rail song from a movie called “Honeymoon” (1973). The song is sung with gutso by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar. A bunch of college students are going on an excursion and they sing this song on the train. The lead actors Anil Dhawan and Leena Chandawarkar who are also in the same train also join in the singing.
This lovely song, which liken life to a sweet dream is written by Yogesh and music is composed by Usha Khanna.
Here is this forgotten gem from “Honeymoon” (1973) which is the 2700th song of this blog.
And I take this opportunity to thank all my readers, commentors, visitors and well wishers. Keep showering your love and I am sure with your love and encouragement we will enjoy our journey down Bollywood memory lane just as much as the actors singing this song are seen enjoying their train journey.

Lyrics
lalalalalala
lalalalalalla
aaaaa
aaaaa
jeewan hai ik sapnaa
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa
jeewan hai ik sapnaa
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa
jab tak hai ye mausam
aao rang len ham tum
tan man ismein apnaa
jeewan hai ik sapna
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa
jaane waale har guzre pal
dard se bojhal hain
jaane waale har guzre pal
dard se bojhal hain
aane waale kal jo hain wo
aankhon se ojhal hain
phir us kal ki guzre pal ki
chhodo baaten karnaa
jeewan hai ik sapna
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa
aaaa
aaaa
aaaa
sukh mein jo hain
wo ye sochen
dukh na koyi aaye
sukh mein jo hain
wo ye sochen
dukh na koyi aaye
dukh se haaraaa jo bechaara
dhoondhe sukh ke saaye
ham ko kyaa gham
hamne hardam seekhaa hai jab hansnaa
jeewan hai ik sapna
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa
aaaa
aaaa
jab se man mein
bas gayaa hai
teraa roop salonaa
ab se man mein
bas gayaa hai
teraa roop salonaa
raaton mein ab chaandi barse
din mein barse sonaa
mere dil ki
kismat kiski
hogi bolo sajnaa
jeewan hai ik sapna
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa
jab tak hai ye mausam
aao rang len ham tum
tan man ismein apnaa
jeewan hai ik sapna
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa
jeewan hai ik sapna
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa
jeewan hai ik sapna
madhur suhaanaa sapnaa

Wow! 2700! That last hundred was quick! Sehwagesque. 🙂
Congrats, Atul.
May you continue to keep the scoreboard ticking at this pace – there are still plenty of songs out there.
And of course we, the regulars, will continue to be part of this journey of yours (like this train journey). And I hope more people join – the more the merrier. 🙂
All the best!
