Zulf bikhraati chali aayi ho

I find that there are many songs that I love listening to without having an inkling about their details. And with time getting the details of these songs becomes a problem in case that movie does not do well at the box office.
This song “Zulf bikhraati chali aayi ho” is very much a song of this category where I had no knowledge about the details of this song. And I would have remained oblivious in the future tio, but for the farmaish of this song. Raja, the farmaish sender, very kindly mentioned the name of the movie also and that is how I came to know that this song is from “Ek Kali Muskaayi” (1968).
This song is sung by Rafi and it is picturised on Joy Mukherji and Meera Joglekar. If Joy Mukherji is a Shammi Kapoor clone then Meera Joglekar can be described as a Priya Pajwansh clone. 😀
Rafi sings this song with his customary elan. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and Madan Mohan is the music director.

bol kahaan ham jaayen
jaal phailaati chali aayi ho
jaal phailaati chali aayi ho
ae ji socho to zaraa

haay haan
badli kaa kyaa hogaa

Thanks for posting this, Atul.
Ok, I can understand somebody being a Shammi clone, but why on earth would anybody try to be a Priya Rajvansh clone? 🙂
Yes, there is a bit of resemblance (maybe the height) but the face looks more like Anju Mahendru to me. And there is a bit of overall Anjana-type look too.
I had never heard of Meera Joglekar before knowing she was in this movie but she seems quite alright to me. And certainly not all that wooden. 🙂
The movie was a reasonable hit too, I think. The songs were very popular. The title song (“Lo ek kali muskayi”) for sure, was very popular, as was “na tum bewafa”.

I love hindi music and your blog.
This is the song I have seen being shooted in 1966 or 67 when I was 16 or 17 years of age.
We kids went running to the place ( Randha fall near Bhandardara in Ahmadnagar district) which was about 10 to 11 KMS from my village Rajur.
We all stood stunned in that ambience.
And thus this song became my favorite.
Today in Youtube days I put on this song and enjoy it as well as the place where it was shoot to enjoy the nostalgia.
The movie was directed by Vasant Joglekar to launch his daughter Meera.
