“Aashiq”(1962) was a movie starring Raj Kapoor, Padmini, Nanda etc. This movie, like amny movies of those days, was a musical blockbusters. The songs of this movie sound so sweet even today, some half a century after they were created.
I have already posted a few songs from this movie. Here is another wonderful song from this movie. “Ye to kaho kaun ho tum kaun ho tum” is a nice dance song where Raj Kapoor is seen playing a dholak and singing this song while Padmini is seen dancing to her heart’s content alongwith other dancers.
This song is sung nicely by Mukesh. Shailendra is the lyricist and Shankar Jaikishan composed the music.
I have opened a new category of songs now. This is called “Dholak” songs, and this song belongs to that category. I am sure I will be able to include some really nice songs under this category.
