This movie is called “Tarzan and King Kong” (1965). The title and its star cast leaves no doubt in anyone’s mind that it is a C category movie. It has Dara Singh, Randhawa (Dara Singh’s brother), Mumtaz, Shyam Kumar etc.
Remember what I keep saying about the music of Hindi movies of those days ? The movie may be C grade, and the music director and lyricist may not get assignments in A grade, but they had the calbre to create A grade music. And that is very much the case here too.
Here is a delightful song from this movie. It is sung by Suman Kalyanpur.A Shamsheer (never heard of him) is the lyricist and Robin Bannerji is the music director.
The picturisation of this song is fabulous. This song is picturised on Bela Bose and the picturisation also shows a few characters (Randhawa, Mumtaz, Bhagwan etc)tied up at the stakes and Shyam Kumar, the boss of the baddies looking quite pleased with the day’s work.
The audio of the song, plus its picturisation, makes this song a delight to listen to and watch. Here is this superb A grade song from a C grade movie.
