“Around The world” (1967) which is an abbreviation of “Around the world in eight dollars” was basically a movie where Raj Kapoor and Jayshree are seen going on a world tour. Most tourists go to their destinations to watch those places and soak in the atmosphere there, whereas our lead actors go there to sing songs. 😀
I have posted a songs from this movie in the past. Personally I was not aware of any of these songs earlier, still I was able to post these songs because I became aware of these songs thanks to some long pending farmaishes for the songs of this movie.
Here is one of those songs from that long pending farmaish. This song “jaane bhi de sanam” is not easyy to find. This song in fact is excluded from the latest DVDs of this movie, I am told. What a pity ! I am not a fan of songs from this movie, because the songs of this movie are sung mostly by Sharada, but I must day that this song is quite a hummable song.
This song may be missing from the latest DVD of this song, but some enthusiast had uploaded the video of this ong from an old print of this movie. So one is still able to watch the picturisation of this elusive song.
Here is this song, which is sung by Sharada. It is picturised on Rajshree and Raj Kapoor on exotic locations. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist and Shankar Jaikishan composed the music.

beautiful haunting song. sharda is a great singer and a trained singer. I wish we had more songs from her!

The dvd of this movie is missing at least four songs, and four of the best ones at that.

Indeed, now that you mention it, this is a big crime seeing that songs form such big and important parts in most movies.
