I have mentioned it many a timers that the golden era of Hindi movie music had great music coming from everywhere. Not only well known movies with well known composers, even C grade movies with lesser known composers were creating great music those days. Many of these lesser known songs and movies have been forgotten with time. Looking for these forgotten song and listening to them (often for the first time) is a highly rewarding experience.
Here is one such song from an obscure and forgotten movie called “Hum Matwaale Naujawaan” (1961). This song is a lovely duet sung by Geeta Dutt and Mukesh. Only the audio of this song is available, but I can say with some certainty that this song was picturised on Saeeda Khan and Shekhar, because they were the lead actors of this movie.
Majrooh Sultanpuri has come up with the wonderful lyrics of this song. Chitragupta is the music director.
