“Champaakali” (1957) is a movie starring Bharat Bhushan, Suchitra Sen, Shubha Khote etc. This movie is known for some Hemant Kumar songs including the well known song Chhup gaya koyi re door se pukaar ke. I have in fact discussed as many as three songs from this movie in the past.

Here is a less known song from this movie. In fact I was not aware about this song till a few hours ago.

Here is this song which is sung by Hemant Kumar. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and Hemant Kumar is the music director.

I have included the audio as well as the video links of this song. The picturisation shows Bharat Bhushan, stranded in wilderness, looking for human habitation and he listens to this song that is bein sung at a distance by a group of labourers. Tracking the direction from where this song is emanating, he locates the source of the song and reaches there as the song draws to a close
