The movie “Yaadein” (1964) was as off beat a movie as any movie could be. The movie was shot almost exclusively on one set and with only one actor. This movie was made by Sunil Dutt under his home banner called Ajanta Arts productions Sunil Dutt himself was the sole actor of this movie.
The movie tells the story of Anil (Sunil Dutt) who is a normal middle class man. His wife’s is Priya, and they have two kids, Geeta and Pawan.
This movie shows us the happenings in Anil’s life one night when he reaches his home late and finds no one at home.How he copes with the situation and how things develop into the night forms the story of the movie.
This movie has two songs. Both are background songs. One of these songs have already been discussed.
Here is the second song from the movie Yaadein (1964). Situationally, this song is placed at the end of the movie. From the picturization, it appears to also be a song from the past life of Anil and Priya, from the time they were courting one another, and apparently is from the day Anil proposes to Priya. On screen in the movie, only one antraa of the song is played, after which the movie ends. Yet this one antraa significantly adequate to make one realize what a wonderful composition this one is.
Lyrics are by Anand Bakshi, and the song is beautifully sung by Lata. The fast paced melody is composed by Vasant Desai.

Sudhir Ji, thank you so much for telling us about such an offbeat movie. Pretty tempted to find this movie and watch it now. This blog is the best! :).
