I was not aware of this movie called “Do Dilon Ki Daastaan” (1966) till recently. I wonder why . This movie has such nice songs in it and it should have been much better known. This movie had Pradeep Kumar and Vyjyantimala in lead roles.
Here is a song from this movie that I heard for the first time just a few hours ago and now I absolutely love this song. This song is a duet sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. Raja Mehdi Ali Khan is the lyricist. Music is composed by O P Nayyar. Though only audio is available, but I can guess that this song is picturised on Pradeep Kumar and Vyjyantimala.

OP was very optimistic then for “Do Dilon ki Dastan” songs to succeed.
Why?
The answer is provided by yourself by posting such a tuneful song above.
But things doesn’t happen the way you plan.
First ‘Do Dilon ki Dastan’ took much more then normal time in it’s making.
Second it was Pardeep Kumar’s first drectorial venture(and last) which bombed.
Third Vyjantimala & Pardeep Kumar lost their sheen in between.
And lastly, by that time, the core(the listener) had changed who were taken over by LP & RD style by that time.
Nevertheless this song above is marvellously composed.
