Waah ri duniyaa waah re zamaane

I am aware of a movie called “Grihasthhi” (1963) and I have in fact discussed a song from this movie in this blog. Now I have come to realise that there was another movie of the same name that was released in 1948.
Here is a lovely song from “Grihasthhi” (1948).This melancholic song is sung by Shamshad Begam. I have a feeling that I have seen the actress who lip syns this song, but I am unable to identify her. So I request my knowledgeable readers to help identify her. While identifying her, any information about this obscure movie would be helpful too. 🙂
PS-The lady is Sulochana Chatterji. I thank our experts Derubala and Arunkumar Deshmukh for identifying her. And I thank Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh for providing a wealth of information about this movie too.
The song is written by Wahid Qureshi which is a new name for me. Music is composed by Ghulam Mohammad.

kismat roothhi aasha roothhi
tum kyaa badley duniyaa badli

Atul ji,
This was a movie produced by Aina Pictures and the Director was S.M.Yusuf.The cast included
Masood,Sulochana Chatterjee,Pran,Sharada,Shyama,Kuldeep kaur,Faizi,Rajni,Yakub, Lalita Pawar (Until this picture,Lalita Pawar’s real name-AMBU- was always mentioned in brackets in the credit. After this picture, she insisted that AMBU sould not be mentioned anymore.),Mirza Musharraf etc.etc.
The story was a tear jerker. It depicted how a Govt.Servant, nearing retirement, with two good looking daughters manages to get them married suitably, against all odds.
derubala ji has rightly identified Sulochana,in the video.

This actress is NOT Sulochana Chatterjee. She,s Sharda who was the sister of Vinod Mehra. She also acted in “Dillagi” and “Jadoo”
