O babusaab o memsaab

In Hindi movies, we have seen several songs of the “Roothhna-Manaanaa” (Sulking appeasing) genre where one partner (usually the male) tries to appease the sulking partner and succeeds just before the penultimate line in the song is to be sung. 😀
If it is the hero and heroine involved, then one of them invariably swallows his/ her pride and bursts into the song meant to bury the hatchet.
But the lesser actors playing the warring couple may not have the same maturity and in their case, they will need to be shown the errors of their ways. 😀 It is here that the good samaritan hero and heroine play the marriage counsellor and preach the value of love and understanding between couples.
Here is this fun “marriage counselling ” song from “Talaaq” (1958). The song is sung by Manna Dey and Asha Bhonsle and this song is lip synced by Rajendra Kumar and Kamini Kadam who sing this song for the benefit of a feuding couple who tend to run away from each other at the first available opportunity and they need to be pulled back together.
This fun song is written by Pradeep, who demonstates that he could not only right great patriotic, mythological and socially relevant songs, but that he could write such nice songs on marital relationship as well.
C Ramchandra has composed this lovely folk music based song. I became aware of this song for the first time only just now. This is a song that deserves to be much better known among music lovers.
