I have discussed a song from “Kaajal” (1948) in the past, where I had mentioned that Wasti, Suraiyya and Jayant were the actors in this movie.
Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung by three singers, and all of them are lesser known singers for most music lovers. This song is sung by Ram Kamlani, Hamida Banu and Uma Devi. Only the audio of this song is available and it is difficult to guess the actors on this sonng as well as the picturisation. The harmonium playing in the background makes one feel that this could well have been picturised as a qawwali or a roadside song.
I am not aware of the lyricist either, and I do not trust the entry of earthmusic which mentions that Ram Kamlani is the lyricist. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.
Ghulam Mohammad is the music director.

Atul ji,
RAM KAMLANI was never a Lyricist.He was an Actor,Director and Singer,in late 40s and early 50s.
As I mentioned yesterday(comment on Taaron bhari raat….),and as rightly pointed out by dk,as in above posting,the lyricist for this song too is D.N.Madhok.

The lyricist is probably DN Madhok or Shakeel Badayuni (per Harminder Singh Hamraaz)
