Lata was Madan Mohan’s female singer of choice, but it does not mean that he has not used other female singers in his songs. Curiously enough, Madan Mohan did not use the voice of Lata in the movie called “Bombay Race Course” (1965). The female singers in this movie were Asha Bhonsle and Suman Kalyanpur.
The movie was a flop and the songs of this movie are not all that well known, though they are nice to listen to.
Here is a song from this movie. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist.
As only the audio of this song is available, so it is difficult to tell how and on whom this song is picturised. From the sounds of it, it appears to be a mujra song.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and on this song.
PS-Our beloved inhouse encyclopaedia, Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh confirms that this song was picturised as a mujra song. He also informs that it was picturised on Minu Mumtaz.

Atul ji,
BOMBAY RACE COURSE(1965),was produced by P.R.Films and directed by a B film director Kedar Kapoor-who had earlier directed movies like Alibaba Margina,Changez khan,Dara singh,Mast kalandar,Tarzan comes to Delhi etc.
The cast was Nalini Jayawant( who was already on her waning stage),Ajit(probably his last film as a Hero),K.N.Singh,Johnny Walker(he did not have a single song in this film,contrary to prevailing custom),Murad, Minu Mumtaz etc.
The film details a story involving a straight person(Ajit) getting ruined as a result of indulging in races,a habit developed by a croock,K.N.Singh and his coterie and how he comes out of it with wife’s(N.J.) and friend’s(JW) help.
The above song is from a tawayef’s mehfil,pictured on Minu Mumtaz.
