“Chaand Mere Aaja” (1960) is a movie that had Bharat Bhushan, Nanda, Maruthi Rao, B.M.Vyas, Achala Sachdev, Lalitha pawaar,jeevan, D.K.sapru, Veena etc in it. This was a Murli Movies productions and it was directed by Raam Dariyaani.
This movie had some nice songs in it. I have discussed three songs from this movie in the past. Here is another superb song from this movie.
This song is sung by Lata. the song is picturised on Nanda and Bharat Bhushan. another lady is also visible in the picturisation and I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify her.
Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Chitragupta.

The lady in white saree with bharat bhushan is NALINI CHONKAR(who is there in famous parasmani lata song “hanstaa huaa noorani chehraa”(another dancer alongwith Jeevankala)

“Chand Mere Aja” was rated as one of the most popular musical hits during my student days in 60s, almost at par with other musical hits of that time such as Chaudavi ka Chand & Bambai kaa babu. Songs of “Chand Mere Aja” were repeatedly played on Radio Channels like Vividh Bharti & Radio Ceylon. The melodious music of this movie was given by Chitragupta, who was generally known as a “B-Grade” Music Director, but his sweet music always used to be a hit. Unfortunately, songs of “Chand Mere Aja” were forgotten with time.

Dear Mr. Atul. I think the girl in this song with Bharat Bhusan, is the same girl who played the sister’s role of Sayeeda Khan from the movie MODERN GIRL. She was not very often seen in pictures. But I can remember her face in the song from Modern Girl “Chehere uthne se pehle” Maybe I am wrong, in that case my excuses. Gr. from Roos
