Silwaa de re saajanwaa mohe reshmi salwaar

“Sindoor” (1947) was produced by Filmistan studio. Kishore Sahu was its director. He himself was the hero of this movie. This movie had Kishore Sahu, Paro, Shamim, Gulab, Rajendra, Mehmood, Pratima Devi, Sushil Sahu etc in it.
Most names in the above list ring no bells. I can only guess that Sushir Sahu was the brother of Kishore Sahu. THe Mehmood in the credit may or may not be the person who became a leading comedian in 1950s.
I have discussed two songs from this movie in the past. Here is a light hearted song from this movie. Only the audio is available, but I can guess that this song is a stage performance where Paro and Sushir Sahu enact the roles of Husband and wife. In this song, Paro asks Sushil sahu and get a silk salwar stitched for her. The requirements of the women of those days was quite basic, I would think. Just the other day we discussed a song where a woman was asking her tailor to stitch a choli for her (Meri choli ko seena sambhaal ke (Chakradhaari) ) and here we find a lady asking her husband to get a silk salwaar stitched for her. 😀
Seeing that both Paro and Sushir Kumar figure in the starcast, one can safely assume that the song is picturised on them as well. The fun lyrics are written by someone called Ambikesh Abhishek Kuntal Kulwant. It is a new name for me.
PS-All sites on internet (who copy from each other) mention the name of the lyricist as Ambikesh Kuntal, but own own walikng encyclopeadia Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh has information about this lyricist which is not available anywher else. He informs us that the lyricist was called Abhishek Kulwant and not Ambikesh Kuntal and that he has written lyrics for a few other movies too, viz. He has written lyrics for some other movies too, like Jaishankar-51,Shararat-44,Veer Kunal-45,Matrubhoomi-48 etc.
Khemchand Prakash is the music director.

Atul ji,
The Lyricist’s name is Abikesh Kulwant. He has written lyrics for some other movies also like Jaishankar-51,Shararat-44,Veer Kunal-45,Matrubhoomi-48 etc.
SINDOOR(1947),a Filmistan production was produced, directed, acted by Kishore Sahu. Not only this he also wrote the story, dialogues and one song in it.Additionally,he has sung also a song in it !
This was a revolutionary movie in those days,as it tackled the issue of re-marriage of widows.
The story revolves round the family of a wellknown cotractor of lucknow Shiv prasad Tiwari. He lives with his mother(dadi ma),second wife(maaji),elder son Beni and younger son Ratan. His daughter is already married and away.
One of their distant relations Mausi lives in Tulsighat with her young widow daughter and her small child.
Shiv prasad brings the widow-Meera(Shameem) and her child to Lucknow, where his elder son Beni(Kishor Sahu) loves and wants to marry her.
The entire film is full of melodramatic scenes with final happy outcome after a long speech by ShivPrasad. As you rightly guessed,Sushil sahu(real brother of K.Sahu) plays the role of the spoiled step brother Ratan’s role in the film.
I have given some more information on this film in my comments on the song “Koi rokey usse” dated 7th march2011.
