“Sunahre Qadam” (1966) is a B grade movie which was produced by Saraswati Kala Mandir and directed by Satish Nigam. this movie had Shashikala, Agha, Sabita Chatterjee, Randhir, Rehman etc in it. With such star cast, the movie deservedly had little takers.
This movie was the last movie of Bulo C Rani as a music director. Here is a song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Shashikala.
This melancholic song is wtitten by Mahendra Pran.

“बेकली” = restlessness, disquiet, बेचैनी
आंसुओं की शमा से गर, ग़म की तारीकियाँ मिटती
कुछ तो खुशीओं की रौशनी होती, ज़िंदगी के इस फसाने में
Wonder it would have been
If the darkness of sorrows
Could be defeated with burning tears
May this sad saga of life
Have had a glow of happiness
“तारीकि” = darkness, अंधेरा
“आंसुओं की शमा” – if my tears could burn, and I could light a lamp with that flame, and if that flame could defeat the darkness of sorrows; I have a lifetime supply of tears that I would use.

Seems forever
Carrying on my shoulders
This bier of longings
That when, at long last
The destination itself came to me
I myself was no more in this world
‘Destination’ – the poet intends to say that when the time came for my longings to be realized.
The longings within were being carried as a bier, a coffin, for so long.
When the time came, and the fulfillment of my longings came to me at last,
My longings within themselves had died.

Atul ji,
SUNHARE QADAM(1966) was indeed the last movie of Bulo C Rani as a Music Director.During this picture,BCR was not well and hence S.MOHINDER was called over to complete the work.He gave music to 2 songs in this film.The above song,however,was done by BCR only.
A story synopsis etc was provided by me on 24-6-2011,as comments on another song of this film,’Na baaz aaya Muqaddar….’.
