“Aatmaram” (1979) is a recent movie bty the standards of this blog, but this movie is nearly as obscure as many movies of much older vintage. The reasons are not far to seek. The movie was a smaller budget movie with actors like Shatrughan Sinha, Vidya Sinha,Bindiya Goswami,Amjad Khan etc in it. The movie was directed by Sohanlal Kanwar and the movie sank without a trace.
The main reason why this movie earned some popularity was thanks to one duet song from this movie. This duet is sung by Lata and Rafi and it is picturised on Shatrughan Sinha and Vidya Sinha. The song is written by Vishveshwar Sharma who was one of the three lesser known lyricists of this movie-M G Hashmat and Prabha Thakur being the other lyricists of this movie. The music direction of this movie was by Shankar Jaikishan, though in reality, it was Shankar alone, since the pair of Shankar Jaikishan had got disbanded in 1970 with the death of Jaikishan and Shankar (still using the brand name of Shankar Jaikishjan) found himself confined to B grade movies and his music in these movies only yielded a few sporadic hits like the song under discussion. Even this song did not cause any major ripples in the Binaca geetmala that year.

Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Many years ago, I have watched one party song from same film,(in Doordarshan Programme “Chhayageet”) I thought that this beautiful song was the same party song. But today I realised that this song has been picturised differently.
I just can`t able to recollect the lyrics of that party song.
Whether the same song has 2nd version in that movie or same song was picturised 2nd time(for different situation) in the movie?
Anyone Who has seen the movie, please provide the information, if they have.
