When I came across this song for the first time, which was just a few hours ago, I was not aware about the details of this song. It was only when I dug up the information about this movie that I realised that this song is from “Chaand Aur Suraj”(1965).
“Chaand Aur Suraj” (1965) is a Ganga Chitra production. It was directed by Dulal Guha. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Dharmendra, Tanuja, Nirupa Roy, Tarun Bose, Asit Sen, Sajjan, Dhumal, Madhumati etc in it.
This song is sung by Mukesh. Shailendra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Salil Chaudhary.
Only the audio of this song is available. But my guess is that this song is picturised on Dharmendra (and may be Tanuja too). I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and on the picturisation of this song.

CHAND AUR SURAJ(1965),a Ganga chitra film directed by Dulal Guha who also wrote the story and s/play,besides producing it too.The dialogues were by B.R.Ishara-who later became a daring/revealing Director himself.
Chandra Prakash(Ashok kr.) and Suraj prakash(Dharmendra are 2 brothers like Ram and Laxman.Seeta is Bhabhi(Nirupa Roy).CPr wants that Spr should be educated and sent to UK to become a doctor.Suraj is in love with Kiron(Tanuja) and her father wants them th marry.Ch.Pr is involved in false charge of freud and is sacked.The engagement of Suraj is broken.chandra prakash starts a business.One day,he goes on a travel,but a body is found under railway with his papers.People say he sacrificed for brother,who gets 1 lakh rupees insurance money.
After few reels,Chandraprakash appears and there are plots and subplots,for Dulal Guha to unentangle.He does it efficiently and all is well in the end.
The music by Salil da was very good and Asha Bhosle’s ‘Bagh me khili kali…..’ was a hit song.
The above song is one of the very few songs of mukesh sung for Dharmendra.
