Meri jawaani pyaar ko tarse
Posted by: Atul on: October 21, 2011
Today (21st october) is the birthday of not one, but two legends of Hindi movies. One is Shammi Kapoor and another is Helen.
Just now I posted a song to mark the birthday of Shammi Kapoor. Here is a song to celebrate the birthday of Helen.
This song is an archtypical Helen song in all respects. This song , which is from “Upaasana” (1971) finds Helen doing her usual stuff with aplomb. Her usual voice, viz Asha Bhonsle croons this song. The picturisation shows this cabarat dance perfprmed in a party on a stage, with several people seated in their respective tables, with drinks in their hands. One can also find Sanjay Khan among those present in the party.
The music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji, who not only survived in the 1970s that saw R D Burman kind of music, but developed their own style, which saw then carve their own niche. Kalyanji Anandji in fact composed several fantastic cabarat songs in 1970s. The cabarat songs of “Don” (1978) readily comes to mind.
This movie had Indeewar and Rajinder Krishan as lyricists, and this song is written by Indeewar. I thanks our inhouse expert Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh for this information.

Song-Meri jawaani pyaar ko tarse (Upaasana)(1971) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Indeewar, MD-Kalyanji Anandji
Lyrics
ho o
o
meri jawaani
meri jawaani pyaar ko tarse
ang ang se masti barse
mujhko banaale mehbooba
ho
mehbooba
meri jawaani pyaar ko tarse
ang ang se masti barse
mujhko banaale mehbooba
ha
ho o o
mehbooba
hahahaha
hahahaha
dil ko kahaan tak roke rahenge
dil ko kahaan tak roke rahenge
ab to kisi ke hokey rahenge
pyaar ki pyaas kahin nahin jaati
ban ja tu tanhaayi ka saathi
mujhko banaale mehbooba
ho o mehbooba
meri jawaani pyaar ko tarse
ang ang se masti barse
mujhko banaale mehbooba
ho o
ho o o mehbooba
ho o
jaam nahin to zehar pilaa de
jaam nahin to zehar pilaa de
jaise bhi ho tu pyaas bujhaa de
aahon se koi pathhar pighle
koi to dil ka armaan nikle
mujhko banaale mehbooba
ho o mehbooba
meri jawaani pyaar ko tarse
ang ang se masti barse
mujhko banaale mehbooba
ho o
ho o o mehbooba
