“Muljim” (1963) is a movie which was directed by Nisar Ahmad Ansari. As was his wont , he also acted in this movie, though not as the lead man. The two ageing actors, namely Pradeep Kumar and Shakila, play the lead roles in this movie.
Though the movie does not ring any bells, but that has not stopped me from discussing as many as two songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from the movie. This song is a duet which is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. The picturisation shows Shakila patiently waiting for Pradeep Kumar to arrive at a secluded spot. When he does not turn up then she goes back to her car and is preparing to go back, when this song commenced and she is stopped in her tracks. The unmistakable voice of Rafi tells her that Pradeep Kumar has arrived. For the fist few lines of the song, she is shown to sulk, but that sulking is only skin deep and before one realises, she joins in lip syncing too.
Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi.
This song is “new” for me and I became aware of this song just a few hours ago.
