Raj Kapoor and Nargis formed one of the most memorable pairs in the history of Hindi movies. This pairing began in late 1940s, and lasted for just under one decade, when Nargis married Sunil Dutt and settled into a life of domestic bliss.
The songs of Raj Kapoor-Nargis movies often had a fixed team, viz Mukesh singing for Raj Kapoor, Lata for Nargis, lyricist being Shailendra /Hasrat Jaipuri with music by Shankar Jaikishan.
But that has not always been the case. There have been entirely different musical teams for Raj Kapoor-Nargis movies too. I have in fact discussed a few such songs in this blog.
Here is a duet picturised on Raj Kapoor and Nargis. This song is quite a rare and special song. The song is sung by Talat Mehmood and Geeta Dutt. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Khemchand Prakash. The lyrics of this song include the names of Raj Kapoor and Nargis.

Evergreen song.One of the best composition.
No doubt Voice of Talat saheb is most suitable to the that of Raj Saheb.
There is one more voice is also considered .That is voice of Shri. Sankar Das Gupta in the same movie for Raj Ji.

I didn’t know this song was filmed on Raj Kapoor and Nargis, I always thought it was from some Dilip Kumar movie. It is a beautiful song, but then I have always been partial to Talat Mehmood’s voice.

Thanks to Nitin Shahi ji .. we got to know that this song was initially to be sung by Asha & Kishore.. and Robin Chatterjee asked them to leave during rehearsals. Here is a video of Asha Tai telling us about what happened..

It is a divine combination of lyricist, music composer and singers. The actor pair looks stunning, the playback suits them so well. All are in the other world now, but the divinity is mesmerizing. Love this song.
