Holee-2026 is being celebrated all over !!! On this occasion it is customary for us to have ‘Holee songs’ presented here on this blog.
Today’s song is from the movie ‘Hari -Darshan-1972’. It was directed by Chandrakant for ‘Joy Films, Bombay’. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 24.08.1972. The star cast of this movie includes Randhawa, B. Saroja Devi, Abhi Bhattacharya, Shahu Modak, Asit Sen, Sujata, Kalpana Deewan, Padma Rani, Sanjana, Sadhna Khote, Sarla, Anwari, Rekha Chouhan, Babu Raje, Himmat Singh Chouhan, Ram Rasila, Satyajit, Jr. Mehmood, Baby Rupa, and others. And Dara Singh, Jayshree Gadkar, Arvind Trivedi in special appearance.
‘Hari -Darshan-1972’ has tens songs. They were written by Kavi Pradeep and their music was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji. Seven songs (including two multiple version songs) from this movie have already been posted on this blog.
Today I am presenting the eighth song from this movie. As mentioned above it is a song celebrating Holee in the movie. This song takes place in the movie after Bhakta Prahlad is saved by God from ‘Holika’ who gets burned down to ashes while trying to immolate Bhakta Prahlad. Bhakta Prahlad comes out safe and then people celebrate the occasion. Actress Sanjana and actor Sudarshan Dhir are seen in the picturisation, among others . The video quality in the link available is not that much clear. Earlier I thought the actor dancer was Gopikrishna, but he is not there (?).
Master Satyajeet (Bhakta Prahlad) his mother queen Kayadu (B. Saroja Devi) and many others are also seen in the picturisation. King Hiranyakashyap (Randhawa) watches them from his palace and he is already upset and annoyed as he has lost his sister Holika. He watches the celebration and then intervenes to stop this joyous celebration.
Let us now listen to this song which is written by Kavi Pradeep. It is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Vani Jairam accompanied by chorus. Music is composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.
