“Shabaab” (1954) was a Sadiq Preoduction movie. It was produced and directed by M Sadiq. Star cast of the movie included names like Bharat Bhushan, Nutan, Badri Prasad, Yashodhara Katju, Wasti, etc. From the songs of this movie, I have deduced that the storyline of this movie was losely based on Sanskrit scholar Bilhan’s work which was written in 11th century AD. Bilhan should not be confused with Kalhan who also lived in the same areas (Kashmir), but one century later and who wrote “Rajtarangini”.
I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie in the past. Here is yet another song from this movie.
This song is sung by Rafi and it is picturised on Bharat Bhushan. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.
