Sooni re nagariyaa

“Uphaar”(1971) was a Rajshree Productions movie. It was directed by Sudhendu Roy. Rajshree Productions had hit upon the formula of signing up newcomers for their movies instead of big stars. They relied on great music and heartwarming storyline to attract movie goers and this formula served them well for nearly a quarter of a century.
In this movie, they had signed up Swarup Dutt,Jaya Bhaduri,Suresh Chatwal etc.
I have discussed just one song from this movie so far but the other songs of this movie also belong to this blog, going by the fact that a few of our regular contributors have begun to notice the absence of songs from this movie. Here is a lovely song from “Uphar” (1971) which is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Jaya Bhaduri. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist and music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
