Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Hamsafar ho hamsafar

Posted on: January 30, 2012

Hindi movies has one genre of song that I call Villain’s den song. In this song, hero or his accomplices enter villain’s hideout in disguise while singing a song. Another genre of song related to villain’s den song is “diversion” song. In this a female accomplices sings and dances and the villains minnows are easily lured by her, and that allows other accomplices of the hero to gain access to villain’s hideout.

Here is a roadside tamasha kind of diversion song from “Dhamkee” (1973). This song shows Junior Mehmood and a female dance trying to divert the attention of the villain’s minions, and succeeding too, with Junior Mehmood managing to get told of a key from the pocket of one of them.

Junior Mehmood gets to lip sync in Asha Bhonsle’s voice, whereas the lady lip syncs in Usha Mangeshkar’s voice. Verma Malik is the lyricist. Music is composed by the highly talented but sadly underutilised Ganesh. Till recently, onbly one song from “Dhamkee” (1973) was available on YT, and that was the fabulous song Chaand kyaa hai roop ka darpan which has already been discussed in the blog. Much to the joy of Ganesh fans like me, now the other four songs from this movie have also become available, and so it gives me the opportunity to discuss the remaining songs of this movie as well. So here is the second song from “Dhamkee”(1973) for the listening and viewing pleasure of the readers.

I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the lady dancer in the picturisation.

One movie is there namely
JAWANI MASTANI ALIAS SA RE GA MA PA(1972)
the music of which is provided by GANESHji
One kishore song from that movie is already there in the blog.

I want another song from that movie sung my Lata and Meena Mangeshkar:
Lyrics of that song(lyricist:Majrooh Sultanpuri)
picturised on Naazneen and other female actresses as a stage dance song:
“Tu pyaar maange main pyaar de doon”
I think this particular song is very rare and obscure .

I request you to search this song.
