The movie “Baaz” (1953), not to be confused with “Baazi”(1951) was an H G Films production. It was directed by Guru Dutt and the starcast of the movie oincluded names like Guru Dutt,Geeta Bali, Ramsingh, Kuldip Kaur, Sulochana, Yashodhara Katju, Jaswant, K. N. Singh, etc.
I notice that only one song from “Baaz” (1953) has been discussed in the blog. Here is another song from the movie. This song is sung by Geeta Dutt. The song is picturised on Geeta Bali. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by O P Nayyar.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.

Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)
o o o o
ae dil ae deewaane
ae dil ae deewaane
ae dil ae deewaane
aag laga li kyun daaman mein
o zaalim chaahat ke bahaane
ae dil ae deewaane
jurm nahin tha dil ka lagaana
samjha kab nadaan zamaana
jurm nahin tha dil ka lagaana
samjha kab nadaan zamaana
ek nazar aur kitni baaten
ek nazar aur kitni baaten
ek khaamoshi laakh fasaane
ae dil ae deewaane
aag laga li kyun daaman mein
o zaalim chaahat ke bahaane
ae dil ae deewaane
yeh to nahin hai teri manzil
door buhat hai apna saahil
yeh to nahin hai teri manzil
door buhat hai apna saahil
armaanon ki naazuk kashti
armaanon ki naazuk kashti
lagi hai toofaan se takraane
ae dil ae deewaane
aag laga li kyun daaman mein
o zaalim chaahat ke bahaane
ae dil ae deewaane

Coming back to ‘ek hi film ke geet ‘ … courtesy ‘ YIPPEE Master’…
Well, it makes more interesting when I start this program , because the songs appearing in alphabetical order (and in order of the date of their posting), make it more interesting to read the posts, comments, and enjoy the songs, if one has not hear them before.
So, first of all , thanking Atul ji for the post, Atif ji for the song/lyrics and Deshmukh Sir for the details about the movie.
Of course…. I have not watched this movie ..
Starting with this song – well this is in my collection of Geeta Dutt songs, and known to me …

Atul ji,
BAAZ-1953 was a costume drama based on folklore of Kerala in the 16th century.During those times, the Portuguese were trying to have a foothold in India’s coastal area for doing a business.however, the king Zamorin of Kalicut refuses them the permission to settle, and they move south to Malbar.Portuguese wanted to take revenge on Zamorine and tried to ignite enemity between other kings and Zamorine. All the while, they were making a stronghold in Malbar.
Nisha(Geeta Bali) lives with her father Narain das(jaswant). They are against the oppression of Gen.Barbosa(K.N.Singh) who virtually rules Malbar. They also give shelter to Ramzan ali(Janakidas) a patriot. The soldiers capture Nisha,Narain das,Ramzan ali and Nisha’s friend Kirni(Yashodhara Katju) and put them in jail.Nisha appeals to Rajmata(Sulochana-Ruby myers) but in vain.Later these prisoners are sold to a pirate Cabral, who throws all disabled and old people in the sea. This includes Narain das and Ramzan ali also, which enrages Nisha. She,along with other slaves revolts, kills Cabral and takes over the ship. She also captures another ship, having Ravi(the Rajkumar of Malbar-Guru dutt),Rosita(Kuldeep) and Raj Jyotishi(Johnny walker).Ravi and Nisha and Kirni and Jyotishi fall in love.
They return to Malbar, fight with Gen Barbosa and throw them out of Kerala.
Needless to say that Ravi and Nisha, become the king and queen of Malbar.
While Nisha was on the ship, she was known as BAAZ-means The Falcon.
