Today (8th February) is the birthday anniversary of Jagjit Singh. On this occasion, here is a ghazal sung by him.
The ghazal is from a movie that is quite new by the standards of this movie. Mr Sadanand Kamath, who sent me the lyrics of this movie allayed my fears by assuring me that the song does have the familiar old world feel about it which we are used to in the songs that are discussed in this blog.
Here is this song from “Joggers Park” (2003). Except Jagjit Singh, the names of other artists involved in the creation of this song are unknown names for me. Zameer Kazmi is the lyricist and music is composed by Tabun Sutradhar.
The song is lip synced by Khaliq Siddiqui. One can see Victor Bannerji and Perizad Zorabian seated among the audience in the picturisation.
Here is this song as a tribute to Jagjit Singh.
