Here is yet another song of the “how come this song was not posted earlier ” genre. For my excuse, look at my standard excuse that I have given in other songs of this genre 🙂 .
This song is a duet which is sung by Subir Sen and Lata. Subir Sen, like Dwijen Mukherji sang in the same style as Hemant Kumar and if one was not aware, it is easy to mistake the voice for Hemant Kumar’s voice. I have heard this song many a times and I actuallty thought that the song was posted long back. I was obviously confusing this song with another Subir Sen song namely Dil mera ek aas ka panchchi(Aas ka panchchi).
The title song of “Aas Ka Panchhi” (1961) was a bicycle song, whereas the song under discussion is a Tanga song from “Chhoti Bahan”(1959). This song was picturised on Mehmood and Shubha Khote. It was perhaps the fist occasion for the two of them to be paired together in a movie. their pairing obviously went down well with the audience and they were paired together for several movies subsequently where they would often form the CSP (Comic side plot) of the story line, as Memsaab would put it.
Shailendra is the lyricist and music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

One more chariot song. It’s good to see both love birds on the same “vehicle” instead of one chasing another and playing games 😆 . Love this song. Initially I could not accept this song, as I always have loved Manna Dey singing for Mehmood. But as I grew ??? can cherish this song. (Still can’t cherish the last part when Chitalkarji & Lataji are laughing)

It is Subir Sen who is laughing with Lataji. Pray why Chitalkarji would laugh for SJ song. I too cannot cherish the idea. Its itself laughable (just punning)
