Singing filmy songs is a career not only for playback singers but also for small time beggars etc in real life. We in these pages have discussed beggars singing Hindi movie songs on Mumbai local trains. I wonder if beggars still sing such songs on these locals, seeing how crowded these train are. Singing these songs on the roadside, or typically while seated under a tree on the streets is a much better option.
Real life beggears/ mendicants sing songs from Hindi movies, but when it comes to beggars/mendicants in Hindi movies themselves, they typicaly get to sing some original songs. These songs often tend to be philosophical in nature.
Here is one such song from “Patang” (1960). Here Om Prakash is seen fiddling on his fiddle while he lip syncs this song, with his associates (yes beggars too have associates) who man the orchestration part of the singing.
This song is sung by Rafi. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and music is composed by Chitragupta.

Thanks Arunji. Aisi koyi film is post mein nahin hogi jiski detail aap ne likhi nahin hogi. Pahele bhi likha hai aur phir se dohra rahi hoon ki aap ko hazar baar salam karti hoon. Aap movie ki jo chhoti chhoti baate hame bata rahe hai woh hamare liye bahut badi hai.
